The Lodge is taking extra precautions to prevent the spread of COVID-19. In compliance with KFL&A guidance, all guests will be asked to fill out a standard health review and provide individual identification. The Lodge is also following enhanced procedures to prevent the spread of COVID-19. We provide masks, wipe down surfaces with Lysol between bookings, provide hand sanitizer, and comply with enhanced sanitation/disinfecting procedures.
What payment methods are accepted by The Lodge?The Lodge encourages payment via Interact e-Transfer. We also accept Visa/MasterCard by phone and cheques by mail. Please make cheques payable to “The Lodge on Amherst Island”. There is a $25 charge for any returned cheques.
What is the room deposit? A 50% deposit per-room is required at the time of booking to secure your reservation. The balance is due, in full, two weeks before your event or stay.
How does the damage deposit work?Your damage deposit will be refunded within 24 hours of your departure, pending inspection by The Lodge Staff.
What if I need to cancel?All cancellations must be in writing. There is a fee of $50 per room for cancellations received 15 days in advance of the planned arrival date. If a cancellation is received 14 days (or less) before your planned arrival, an amount equal to one night’s stay per room will be forfeited and retained as a cancellation fee.
Are meals included?The Lodge does not provide meals. We will consider catering for large groups; this will be arranged with a separate catering agreement and catering deposit.
Are there stores on the Island? Amherst Island is the place for hand-made poetry, local honey, craft-work, and fine wool yarn and blankets. The Island also has a small general store, offering a limited selection of food items and an LCBO. There are no banks, gas stations, or year-round restaurants on the Island. You will need to get most food items and all gasoline before you arrive on the island.
Should I bring my dog?The Lodge allows service dogs. We love pets, but we also understand that some guests have serious allergies. We are sorry to say that the Lodge is a pet-free space. A $500.00 cleaning fee will be applied to guests who arrive with a dog or other pet. If you choose to cancel your reservation upon arrival with a pet, we cannot provide a refund.
Can I rent a boat from the Lodge? The Lodge does not have any watercraft for use or rental but you can find out more about renting fromnearby providers. Do bring your kayak, canoe, or paddle board to head out from the beach on the property.
Should I pack my bike?Yes! The Island and the mainland offer wonderful routes for cycling. Although The Lodge does not have bikes here for use or rental, there is space to store your bikes during your stay. You can usethis tourto explore the Island via bike.
Can we drink the water at The Lodge?Yes. All the indoor water at The Lodge is filtered and treated.
Can we go swimming while staying at The Lodge?Yes! The Lodge is on a point, and there is water access on two sides of the property! At the front of the building, there are stone steps down to the water. To the rear of The Lodge, there is a beach area on Stella Bay. We suggest you bring water shoes.
Do I need to bring my own sheets and towels? The Lodge supplies all the linens you will need during your stay here with us. We supply the sheets on the beds, and a set of towels for each guest to use during your stay.
Do I get to take a ferry to the Island? Yes! There is a public drive-on ferry to take you from the mainland to the Island. The first ferry leaves the mainland at 6:30 am and the last ferry leaves the mainland at 1:30 am. The ferry runs every hour on the ½ hour from the mainland to the island. May we bring tents to camp on the property? The Lodge does not allow camping on the property. Our beds are way more comfortable anyway!
