Coutesy of  The Lodge

How much more can you get away from it all than to board the ferry at Millhaen and cross the Bay of Quinte to Amhert Island, the first of the famed Thousand Islands.  An island is somehow magical – with a tranquil mood, peaceful and inspiring.  Amherst Island is shoreline, beaches, pastures, woodlands, quiet perimeter roads and one small community, Stella.  The area is both home and studio for a growing number of astists and artisans.

In this island setting is The Lodge — a stately 1880s home that is now decided to developing skills and vision by bringing together students interested in all aspects of the arts.  It is a workplace in an environment that is unquiely inspiring.  Locate on Stella Bay, the grounds of The Lodge and the island itself are sites for outdoor classes.  A spacious, well lit studio provides an indoor workspace.

Focus on your creativity, be motivated. learn from reowned instructors and from one another.  Share stories in the living room or over meals in the dining room.  Walk, bicycle, enjoy the relaxed pace of island living.
