Shell Madden Lives, gardens & paints in Snugglefoot Hollow, a thoroughly mystical place in Stone Mills Township. Her current passion is before you, exclusively created for this show.
Inspired by the ever-changing parade of critters who share the Hollow with her and an healthly dose of Hollywood Hero-worshipfulness, the resulting images are conjured by the imagination of a gentle soul dreaming of far-away places and a time when magic and the innocence of childhood made all things possible.

Alan is a painter and a printmaker, concentrating on pastels and charcoal on paper, limited edition books, with his own illustrations in wood engraving or stone lithography.
He studied at Humber College, and Three Schools of Art, both in Toronto, and Burleighfield School, Great Britain under Patrick Reyntiens.
He studied letterpress printing with Bill Poole.Alan is a member of the Canadian Society of Painters in Water Colour, the Ontario Society of Artists, and the Society of Canadian Artists, Wood Engravers Network of North America and the Canadian Book Binders and Book Artists Guild.His work is collected internationally.
Alan has won many prizes for his drawings and book design. His work has been exhibited at public galleries across Canada, and in the United States, and is represented in Toronto by the Roberts Gallery.Alan moved to Parry Sound Ontario, in 1988, and established his own studio and private press, The Church Street Press, and with his wife opened Parry Sound Books.Much of his work has been influenced by summers spent on Georgian Bay at Bayfield Inlet, and his travels overseas.

CALLING ALL ISLAND ARTISTS!

The Lodge on Amherst Island is seeking submissions for our 2009 all Island Art Show, which opens on Saturday, October 10, 2009. This show is open to island residents age 15 and over, with up to 3 entries per participant. Work must be two-dimensional: each piece must be framed or otherwise ready for hanging.

The Lodge takes a 25% commission on sales.

The time to get working on your artistic masterpiece is now!
