Explore the beauty of Amherst Island with oil. Each day, weather permitting, you will paint, en plein air at various locations on the island starting at The Lodge and then moving to further interesting sites. The subject matter is quite abundant and will include landscapes of farms and fields, building and street scenes, shorelines and vistas. Even animals such as sheep and cows can be incorporated – as well as people. You can expect to experience demonstrations, class critiques and much more. This course is best suited to intermediate and advanced students who have painting experience and would like to begin composing and painting outdoors. Portable equipment is needed including a folding easel.

Lucy specializes in oils to capture the Ontario landscape in a loose painterly style, emphasizing colour and value. Her favorite subject is the traditional landscape, as well as the wilderness scences of northern Ontario. Painting full time since 1990, Lucy studied at Trent University and Sir Sanford Fleming College. Her works have recieved numerous awards at juried shows.
