Doug’s loose, impressionistic methods will be the focus of this workshop. Each day will be taken up with daily demonstrations, student painting time and critiques. A variety of compositions will be offered throughout the week with a mixture of en plein air and studio painting. This workshop is recommended for intermediate and advanced artists.

Doug Mays has been drawing and painting for over 50 years. Doug studied architecture at Mohawk College where he graduated in 1971. Following a 30-year business career, he continued has passion of painting watercolours by instructing on a full-time basis. He has established himself as a personable and effective instructor whose demonstrations, critiques and overall pragmatic approcah lead to a stree-free and enjoyable experience. Doug is an elected member of the Canadian Society of Painters in Watercolour (CSPWC) and he is Past-President of the Central Ontario Art Assoication (COAA). He conducts watercolour workshops for numerous art groups and art schools in Canada, Mexico and Europe.
