Photography- Making the Most of Available Light
June 11-13 (Friday, Saturday, Sunday)
Given the opportunity to make the most of available light, indoors and out, you can create striking images. For novice and more advanced digital photographers, this workshop will challenge you to work with existing light in different settings. There will be opportunities to phograph from early morning to dusk, to see and discuss examples of effective design and composition, to share techniques and to comment on the resulting images. You will have time to use your camera to explore the area around The Lodge and to participate in excursions to different parts of the island. You are expected to use a triipod and understand the basics of shutter speed, aperture, depth of field and downloading images. You are encourage to bring a lap top with photo adjustment software, if you have one, as there will be time for some computer darkroom work.
Wayne is a professional photographer who was at first reluctant to switch to digital technology and now has completely embraced it. He has been displayed in solo and groups shows. As well as exploring the Quinte Area, Wayne has searched for subjects, patterns and textures in urban and rural landscapes across Canada and in his travels outside the country. He has contributed to newspapers, magazines, calendars and books and enjoys interacting with students in his digital photography workshops at Loyalist College.
